On Being a Want to Be Country Singer

I want to be a country singer. Really, I do. But I have accepted the fact that I will never be a country singer. I for one, don't know how to sing. Secondly, I am terrified to sing in front of people. Therefore, my dream of becoming a country singer will remain a dream. I do, however, dabble on the guitar and I have been trying to practice my singing more so that I can play and sing at the same time and not scare my neighbors. So the other day I tried to sing along to a Taylor Swift song and Nick said this:

Story #1:
Nick: You're singing too high. You have to sing from your stomach.

I tried it. It sounded way too low, so I went back up to my high voice.

Nick: It's too high. You sound like a hermit crab.

Jenna: What do hermit crabs sound like?

Nick: You.

Story #2:
Nick: You're singing too high. You have to sing from your stomach.

I tried it. It sounded way too low, so I went back up to my high voice.

Nick: No, your natural voice is an alto. You have a voice like Cher

Jenna: You think I sound like Cher!?

Nick: No your voice is just kinda deep and scary like Cher's

Highlight the text after the star to reveal which story is true * The true story is story number two. Apparently my singing voice is creepy deep. Oh well, I may never be Taylor Swift but apparently me and Cher could do a sassy duet of "If I Could Turn Back Time."
